Monday Movie Review – Book of Life

Movie Rating ♥♥♥♥♥ (5/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

We bought this movie on iTunes yesterday and it was worth the wait.  We missed it when it was in the theater.  This movie has romance, action and drama.  I liked how it is a narrative and a story at the same time.  The colors were festive and bright and in the land of the forgotten the colors were brilliant shades of grey and black,  The story is an amazing journey of 3 friends, 2 boys and 1 girl, one can guess where it goes from there.  So good my almost 3 year old sat on the couch and watched the whole thing cheering on the guys and laughing at the jokes.

Check out the Trailer.

Manhattan Shorts

97%. Cute film about finding true love via an app.

Crime, the animated series. It’s ok, nice narrative. Like watching a comic strip come to life. Good way to show an interview. Not too impressive 2 stars.

On the Bridge – (based on a true story) – great sound track! Wow I am locked in. This film is awesome!! I love the storyline. 5 stars

Crime the animated series take 2 – Like how it is laid out .. Pretty boring. 1 star

Shift – I like how this shows the idea of shifting through space and time. I love the aspect of the guy using the ability to rob the vault and the failure based on the guard closing the steel door. Fabulous by far. 5 stars

Crime the animated series take 3 – I like the story line. It was the best anime so far.

The Fall – this film is gripping horrible things she thinking about while scaling a cliff and thinking about what she saw on her husbands camera. How she releases the ropes as he scales the side of the cliff. 3 stars. Just an average film. Editing is not so good felt like I was watching a home movie.

On/Off – this was awesome. I really enjoyed it. I didn’t expect the ending. 4 stars!

La Carnada – a little boy is forced to find a job to help pay for his mothers insulin and take care of her. His sister left taking all the money the family had saved. He starts to carry drugs for a dealer. He drank all his water and faints on the desert. Boarder patrol finds him and the drugs he was carrying. He is airlifted to a hospital. (Definition: Bait live bait decoy.) 5 stars.

Men make do. This is cute. I like the new take on animation. 4 stars

The brave the boldest. – this film made me cry. I felt her emotion. If I could rate this over 5 stars I would.. Heck I give it a double 5 star rating.

Rhino Full Throttle – very neat mix real film and 2d animation. Super cute film. Liked this a lot 4 stars.

Movie Review Monday – Locke

Movie Rating ♥♥♥♥♥+ (5+/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

This is a good film. Love that it takes place in a car. Set fees are kept low by it being filmed in a car. His decisions are long and you can see his personal turmoil as he makes these decisions. The first reason I thought the decision was is shockingly not the real issue being debated.  In the end it is one thing that makes everything ok…  This movie was amazing that it held my interest throughout the movie since it is just a guy driving in a car while his whole life crumbles around him and he can’t do anything but keep telephone communication open.  There are aspects that make you wonder if he is sick, tired, suicidal or just loosing it.  AMAZINGLY written and preformed.

Any movie that can hold my attention while chasing a toddler and it only has one main scene repeating on what seems like an endless loop behind the actor.

Movie Review Monday – Neighbors

Movie Rating ♥♥♥♥♥+ (5+/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

The trailer really doesn’t do this movie justice.  I was laughing from the first scene.  I think as a new first time mom this movie was truly hilarious.  I am not sure people without children will completely grasp the full enjoyment of the parent aspect of the movie.  There are parts that hit home and parts that made me wonder “who does that?”.  Such as, going to a frat party (or any party) next door while your baby is sleeping unattended in the house.  I have a hard time running to the basement to switch out laundry.

Overall, I laughed my butt off from start to finish.  I loved this film.  Seth Rogen seems to play characters that have me in stitches laughing.  Anything that can make me laugh that much gets 5+ ♥’s in my book.

Movie Monday Review – Grand Budapest Hotel

Movie Rating ♥♥♥♥ (4/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

Exceptional cast. I love the narration giving the back story in the beginning. Scene sets are simple yet full of interesting characteristics. The dialogue is quirky and fun. I did a lot of “hmm” with a head scratch and oodles of giggles with a few belly laughs. I like a movie that keeps me on my toes psychologically. The prison break out scene was funny and touching. Overall it is a dry humor and it seemed that I was the only one laughing in the theater. It is a slow-moving movie in some parts.

Movie Monday – Ernest and Celestine

Movie Rating ♥♥ (5/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

We had a wonderful time in the screening room of the Cinema Salem.  This film was wonderful.  I loved the storybook drawing style animation.  It felt like I was watching a children’s book be read to me.  I enjoyed this film so much that I have pre-ordered it on iTunes.  The world of bears and the world of mice mimic each other so well.  They fear each other because that is what they are taught but in the end both world meet.  This movie is about reaching out to someone who isn’t the same as you and taking a risk of befriending them without passing judgement first.

Monday Movie Review – Rio 2

Movie Rating ♥♥♥ (5/5) Movie Trailer Posted below (I feel like it has been a long time since I saw a movie that was bad.)

This is a very cute movie.  We really enjoyed it.  Rio 2 had my little guy stopped in his tracks quite a few times.  He also danced to the party scenes.  I loved how it brings in topics like family and discrimination without being overly obvious. I have not seen the first Rio so I can not compare them.  I wonder if that would taint how wonderful I think this film was. The movie is as cute as the trailer.

Monday Movie Review – Captain America 2 – The Winter Soldier

Movie Rating ♥♥♥♥♥+ (5+/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

Marvel definitely rocked the sequel.  I am not usually a fan of sequels but this one went above and beyond.

I absolutely love the black ops outfit for Captain America.  Action from the start.  This movie delivers both a good plot and a fabulous action packed thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat.  I rate this one of the best movies of 2014.  Any movie to slow my toddler down long enough to stop, watch, and cheer for the good guys in the action scenes is a winner in my book.  It takes a lot for my little guy to stand still.  I also love the plot twists.  This movie is one of the best if not the best sequel I have ever seen.

Trailer does not do the movie justice!!

Monday Movie Review: Noah

Movie Rating ♥♥♥ (5/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

Sums up the beginning books of the bible. Noah is the last of Seth’s Bloodline.  Begging with him becoming a man and witnessing his father’s murder.  Flash forward to Noah being a father.  Really cool creatures and animals.  The stone creatures are fallen angels.  I can’t stop thinking about this movie I can’t wait to see it again.  The movie makes me want to re-read the story of Noah.

I really enjoyed this movie and highly recommend it to everyone.  I liked how there was room for both the people who believe in evolution and the people who believe in the biblical creation story to enjoy this movie.  It was well done and the CG was amazing.  I liked how the focus is on Noah but we get to see into the lives of his family as well.

The trailer doesn’t even come close to the awesomeness of this film, enjoy.

I just watched a blog post from Renard Moreau that really put the questions I had about the story of Noah in place.  Check it out if you have time.  I like how he discusses the Illuminati and Gnostic connections.  it really made the meaning of the movie a little more clear.  It is an interesting piece – click here → Illuminati Gnostic Secrets Revealed

Monday Movie Review – Mr. Peabody and Sherman

Mr. Peabody and Sherman

Movie Rating ♥♥♥♥ (4/5) Movie Trailer Posted below

This movie was very cute and my toddler seemed to really enjoy it.  It did drag in parts.  As a Rocky and Bullwinkle fan from my younger years I had high expectations for this movie.  I do like how they kept the basic fundamentals of the original shorts by Jay Ward.  I did like how they defined the relationship between Mr. Peabody and Sherman in the film.  It is entertaining and all round makes for a wonderful family film.  This is one I look forward to adding to our movie collection.

If you haven’t seen it yet, run out and see it, don’t wait for Redbox to get this one!!

Enjoy the trailer.

Next weeks Film – The new Muppet movie…
