Let the Reviews Begin

Hello folks I will be reviewing items on a regular basis.  My long time readers will notice that I have added a Review Amazon Store to the page.  This store will be a link to the exact product I reviewed from the same seller.  If you like what you read and/or see in my review you won’t have to search any further than my blog to buy it direct from amazon.  Even better once you add that product you can continue shopping all of amazon like normal just use the search bar in my store.  As I review items I will add them to my amazon store.

Awesome things are coming.  I will also hold random giveaways.

Here is a glimpse into my review store.  I have only 4 items in my store as of right now but this list will be growing very quickly.

Review: My First Crayola Mess Free Marker & Paper

Robert’s 1st Masterpiece

I got Robert the My First Crayola Mess Free Marker & Paper.  It is a cute little cow marker that he can put in his palm of his hand.  He was able to manipulate it across the page with ease.  I was a little disappointed with the lack of durability of the product.  He is 16 months old and at the smashing stage and even after working with him to be gentile he liked the spots the marker made when smashed.   When he smashed it the tip went up into the cow and now only a small tip remains.  The fact that the marker will only mark on special paper is wonderful.  Our biggest issue when we go out to eat is that Robert likes to try to color on the table with crayons.  The Mess Free Marker and Paper fits in his diaper bag and helps distract him while we wait.  he has fun and we don’t have to try to remove crayon marks before leaving.  Because the tip is smashed in so easily I give the value only 3 stars as it will need to be replaced sooner than it dying a slow marker death.

Crayola offers free Coloring Pages that can be printed on a home printer.

Review: iPlay Reusable Swim Diapers

Rating: ★★★★✩

I love these iPlay white reusable swim diapers.  We have swim class 3 days a week and the thought of shelling out money every couple of weeks on disposable diapers seemed silly to me.  We have used our swim diaper 2-3 times a week for the last 12 weeks.  I like how it has snaps on one side of the diaper and the other side is solid.  That makes it so much easier to get on my little wiggle worm.  The snaps are plastic but so far they are still just as good as the day we got them.  I hand wash it 2 times a week and let it hang to dry.  I machine wash on cold and air* dry.  *It is recommended by iPlay they not be put into the drier as the outer lining may melt.

I would love to give this diaper 5 stars but we have not experiences a poop in it yet so I am not exactly sure how it will hold up to that test.  It is a nice snug fit so I don’t think there would be any leaking but I won’t know until it happens.  When it does I will update the review.  I recommend this diaper to all the mom’s in our play groups.  We got ours at Babies R Us for $9.99 and it has been worth every penny.

Product Details (from the iPlay website): UPF 50+! Snaps down side for quick changing. Waterproof outer layer, super absorbent inner layer and wick-away lining next to baby’s skin. Snug-fitting around legs and waist. Woven nylon, coated poly, cotton terry and poly wick-away lining. No other diaper necessary!

REVIEW: Chuck E Cheese – Danvers, MA

Overall Rating: ★★★★★

Safety Rating: ★★★★★

Cleanliness Rating: ★★★★★

Ride/Game Rating: ★★★★★

Price: $$ – low-cost, lots of fun!!

I took Robert to Chuck E Cheese yesterday.  WOW  What great fun!!  It is free to get in and they stamped both my hand and one for him.  His hand was a little small so they used a special sticker for his stamp with a number.  Then when we left they used a black light pen to check both my hand and his sticker to make sure we match.  I was very happy with the extra security they have in place and think more child play areas need to have this system in place.  The safety measures are one of the aspects that will make this a frequent play area for us.  They have a whole section for younger kids which was nice.  I like how there are free things for them to play and climb on.  Each ride/game is only 1 token which breaks down to 1 quarter.  the machines will give you coins for as little as 4 for $1. unlike many places which will only convert $5. and higher.

Robert had a blast on several of the kiddie rides.  He even loved the stage where Chuck E Cheese and his friends entertain.

REVIEW: “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch

Rating: ★★★★★

Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch

This is a marvelous mother and son book.  When I found out I was pregnant this was the first book I looked for.  I loved reading it to my brother when he was a toddler.  It was the first book I read to him.  We sat down in the rocking chair when he started to nurse I started to read him this book.  As I read the first page  I had tears roll down my face.  Tears of joy and complete love.  The moment was surreal as I looked down at him nestled in to my chest.  Ever since that moment I read him that book everyday.  Sometimes when he wakes in the middle of the night I rock him back and forth and recite the book to him from memory.  This book is a wonderful read for any parent to their child but it really hit home to me as a first time mom of a little boy.

REVIEW: Uncle Matt’s Organic Orange Juice

Rating: ★★★★★

Uncle Matt’s Organic Orange Juice

The juice was smooth and full bodied.  The first sip was delightful.  The second sip I felt like I was getting juice from the fruit.  By the end of the cup I drank I felt like I just had the most delicious orange I had ever tasted.

Review: Apple TV

Rating: Apple TV – ❤❤❤❤❤

WOW the Apple TV has to be the absolute best Christmas present Daddy got the family.  When we were in the Apple store in the Northshore Mall, Peabody Ma we were asking about getting an HDMI adapter for the iPad and the person working suggested the Apple TV saying it would stream the movies from the iPad to the TV.  They didn’t tell us how truly AMAZING it was which leads me to believe they never saw it in a working state.  All I can say is WOW  I am in ❤ LOVE ❤ with Apple TV.

We don’t have to stream Netflix, Hulu or YouTube to the Apple TV it is already there as pre-loaded programs.  This means we don’t have to bog down one of our machines to watch movies as we did before.  There is also access to the MLB and NBA channels (NHL channel too but since their isn’t any hockey going on right now that is a pointless app) but of course you have to pay for full access to the channels but they are so cheap.  There are tabs for Movie Trailers, Photo Stream, Vimeo, Podcasts, Radio, Flicker and WSJ Live.  Not to mention there is a computer tab where you can connect to any computer with iTunes.  Apple also has included connection to Movies, TV Shows and Music that stream through their systems.

It was so easy to install and get up and running that we didn’t even need to use the instruction manual.
